US-based pizza chain Marco’s Pizza has entered a two-unit development agreement for its debut in the Philadelphia market.

The expansion will be spearheaded by Jack Praizner, a pizza industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience.

The first location will open in Bethlehem in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025, with a subsequent opening in Whitehall in Q4.

Praizner said: “After years in the pizza business, I knew exactly what I was looking for in my next venture: a brand with great growth potential and a product that stands out.

“Philadelphia is ready for Marco’s – it’s a blank canvas, and I see incredible potential here. I’m excited to bring Marco’s to this community and mentor the next generation of franchisees.”

Marco’s Pizza’s leadership is focused on providing development support, including technology and tools to pinpoint territories for expansion.

It also offers assistance in real estate, construction management, funding information and field operations.

Marco’s Pizza chief development officer Gerardo Flores stated: “Jack’s extensive experience in the pizza industry and his passion for mentorship make him an ideal partner to lead Marco’s debut in Philadelphia.

“With his dedication to cultivating future franchisees and fortifying the market, Jack’s leadership sets the stage for Marco’s imminent growth in this dynamic region.”

In February 2025, the pizza brand introduced the Marco’s More Menu, featuring fan-favourite items such as homemade dough, baked and topped with garlic sauce and Romesan seasoning.
