US-based fast-food restaurant company Nathan’s Famous has partnered with Ghost Kitchen Brands (GKB) to open 100 non-traditional locations by the end of this year.
The restaurant company, which is known for its hot dogs and crinkle-cut fries, will open 60 non-traditional locations in the US and 40 in Canada.
The majority of the new kitchens will be located inside Walmart stores. Some of the locations will include dining space, and all of them will offer carry-out and third-party delivery.
Nathan’s Famous senior vice-president James Walker said: “We’re excited to continue our expansion across the US and Canada, and this partnership with GKB grows our footprint even more.
“We look forward to beginning this journey with GKB in their current kitchens and cities, with hopes of continued expansion over the coming years.”
GKB is a Canada-based company and operates kitchens with multiple brands as well as offering pickup or delivery by third-party companies.
The partnership will see GKB sell Nathan’s new menu in their kitchens, along with the Wings of New York virtual kitchen concept, with plans to grow up to 150 new locations by next year.
Wings of New York is Nathan’s recently launched virtual kitchen brand.
GKB founder and CEO George Kottas said: “We are thrilled to partner with Nathan’s Famous, an iconic brand synonymous with American tradition and the flavour of New York.
“As we continue to grow and reinvent the restaurant industry with our unique restaurant concept, we take pride in helping iconic brands scale to reach and serve more customers, allowing customisations and combinations with other brands, all in the convenience of one order.”
In September 2020, Nathan’s Famous partnered with cloud kitchen platform Kitopi to make its food items available across Dubai, UAE.
