Open software as a service (SaaS) platform for restaurants Olo has expanded its Borderless functionality to all customers who use its white-label ordering interface Serve.

Borderless is a seamless guest account and checkout functionality, which was previously exclusive to Olo Pay users.

This accessibility makes it possible for a wider variety of restaurant brands to provide their customers with a simple, password-free sign-in process and a smooth checkout.

The Borderless system allows visitors to save their information on file across the entire network of Olo restaurants, which speeds up the checkout procedure for them.

Brands have already seen increases in predicted order frequency, guest account sign-ins, and checkout conversion rates of up to 7.5% by leveraging the system, the company claims.

This quarter, Olo has also introduced additional product enhancements across its Order, Pay, and Engage suites to unlock new revenue streams and encourage guest engagement.

One of the notable enhancements is the Tax Exempt for Catering+ feature, designed to cater to registered tax-exempt organisations in the US.

Restaurants can now authenticate tax-exempt status within the Olo Dashboard, facilitating catering orders for this significant customer base.

Olo COO Jo Lambert said: “Offering Borderless to a broader set of Olo customers unlocks a massive opportunity not only for Olo but for all of our customers.

“This expansion will allow guests to experience the benefit of a passwordless account across a larger network of restaurant brands, providing them with the seamless checkout experience they expect on digital transactions while increasing basket conversion and ultimately driving digital sales for our customers.

“The extension of Borderless along with the other cutting-edge solutions announced this quarter are critical to our mission of enabling ‘Hospitality at Scale’ as we continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers and their guests.”

Furthermore, Olo has improved its Pay at Table solution by adding split check capabilities and guest survey integration.
