WOWorks brand Saladworks has expanded its footprint across the US and Canada by opening 11 new stores in the first quarter of this year.

The new stores were opened in Nevada, Florida and Tennessee in the US and Ontario in Canada.

The company’s traditional and non-traditional retail presence was expanded by some new units opening within grocery stores.

WOWorks CEO Kelly Roddy said: “The growth Saladworks has experienced over the course of only a few months in 2021 has been extraordinary, especially considering the challenges the restaurant industry has faced due to the pandemic.

“We will continue to expand the brand through traditional and non-traditional formats to help bring Saladworks’ healthier options to more customers across the US and Canada.”

WOWorks now operates a total of 217 locations across the US and Canada.

In addition to the new stores, Saladworks has recently signed a deal with Ghost Kitchen brands to operate more than 90 new Walmart ‘store within a store’ locations across Canada and the US.

Saladworks noted that it will continue to focus on expanding its footprint in this non-traditional vertical.

Last December, Saladworks acquired fast-casual chains Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh and Frutta Bowls.

Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh is a Mediterranean restaurant brand that serves gyros, salads and stuffed pita.

New Jersey-based Frutta Bowls is known for its all-natural acai, pitaya and kale bowls with a broad array of both healthy and indulgent toppings.
