Food and drink travel operator SSP Group has expanded its bakery portfolio at Frankfurt Airport by opening two bakeries, BackWerk and Le Crobag.
BackWerk is a self-service bakery chain and Le Crobag is French-inspired bakery chain. The launch marks the entry of both brands to German airport food.
Spanning 145m², the self-service bakery can accommodate up to 30 guests. It is located at the arrivals hall in Terminal 1, Area C of the airport.
BackWerk Management managing director Karl Brauckmann said: “As Germany’s largest bakery, we are convinced that our experience in quick-service catering will be ideal to meet the demands at the airport. We are developing a new, commercially valuable channel.”
Covering a 33m², Le Crobag offers French bistro style experience at the airport featuring coffee and classic French baked goods and pastries. It is located between the terminals and train station.
Le Crobag business development head David Huschidarian said: “Commuters, as well as long-distance passengers can now treat themselves to oven-fresh, original French croissants and baguette specialties for their journey.”
