Taco John’s has expanded its menu with the introduction of the Taco Pizza, a new made-to-order dish, in the US for a limited period.

The new offering combines traditional taco ingredients with a pizza format. It is being served at 400 participating Taco John’s locations.

The Taco Pizza starts with a 10-inch round corn and wheat flour crust layered with refried beans, seasoned beef, Taco John’s four cheese blend sauce and tortilla chips.

It is baked until crisp then topped with shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes.

The dish is priced at $9.99 and can be purchased in-store or via the drive-through.

Taco John’s corporate chef and menu innovation director Brad Bergaus said: “We’re always pushing to innovate, and Taco John’s Taco Pizza brings together what people love about tacos and pizza, with our signature bold flavours and quality ingredients.
