US-based club-level sports restaurant chain Wings and Rings will begin a piloted test of Miso Robotics’ Flippy 2 at its Crestview Hills, Kentucky, location.

Flippy 2 has been designed to increase commercial kitchen efficiency by using artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), computer vision and data analytics.

Wings and Rings COO Bob Bafundo said: “As a leading developer of robotics technology in the restaurant space, Miso Robotics is a perfect partner to integrate into our business.

“We’ve been so impressed by our conversations with Miso and our initial tests of Flippy that we’re adding more menu items into our pilot. Flippy is consistent, dependable and cooks our food even quicker than before without sacrificing the flavour-forward taste we’re known for.”

With this pilot test, Wings and Rings is said to have become the first wing concept to integrate Flippy 2 in a real restaurant environment instead of a test kitchen.

Moving forward, the restaurant chain is likely to install Flippy 2 at other locations.

Miso Robotics CEO Mike Bell said: “Adding another tremendous brand to our customer base is huge, but when that brand shares in our vision for quality and sees robotics as a game-changer for their overall business and the betterment of their employees, it’s even sweeter.

“Wings and Rings has been committed to us since day one and we can’t wait to work with them for many years to come.”

In May, US-based fast-casual brand Wing Zone partnered with Miso Robotics to include Flippy 2 in all its future restaurant builds.
