Air Canada has launched a new café at Vancouver International Airport, adding a dedicated space for domestic passengers as part of its wider lounge upgrade programme.
The new 4,489ft² Vancouver Air Canada Café has up to 84 seats, and its interior has been created by local design practice SmartDesign Group.
Facilities include a full-service bar offering barista-prepared coffee drinks, local craft beer on tap, and a range of local and international wines, alongside mixed cocktails.
The café is the airline’s second such facility in Vancouver for domestic travellers, extending its ground offering at the hub.
Air Canada product and services managing director Jacqueline Harkness said: “With our first Vancouver Café, we celebrated the spirit of the city, and we're thrilled to deepen that connection with a second and larger café space that adds more of the features our customers love.”
The Vancouver opening follows the 24 March debut of a 62-seat Air Canada Café in the US departures area at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.
Harkness added: “The new Vancouver and Montréal Cafés are key parts of our commitment to keep investing in the customer journey. Each is designed to capture the unique spirit of its respective city, and we look forward to welcoming our customers to these new spaces."
Both cafés are part of Air Canada’s lounge upgrade plan, with more sites and refurbishments due this year.
