US-based fast casual restaurant Aloha Poke has announced the opening of its new restaurant outlet in Richmond, Texas.

Located within The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area of Houston, the Richmond restaurant outlet is the first of ten planned stores.

It is also the brand's second location in Houston and continues its growth in Texas.

The Richmond location is the first for a career franchise operator, Baryalay Razi.

Aloha Poke CEO Chris Birkinshaw said: "We are thrilled to accelerate our Texas expansion with this new store opening in Richmond.

"The Houston metroplex is one of the fastest growing and culturally diverse areas in the nation and we are very excited to expand our footprint within this very important market with several additional locations opening in the coming months.

"Aloha Poke is the perfect example of where consumer trends are heading within the fast-casual space. Our fresh, healthful and customisable menu appeals to a wide range of customers and we look forward to continued strategic expansion across Texas."

In the future, the company plans to open more locations across the Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin markets.

Aloha Poke was established in 2016. Since then, the brand and its franchisees have opened 20 locations throughout the Midwest, Southeast, Southwest and Mid-Atlantic.

In March this year, Aloha Poke opened a new location in Chicago in the North Shore suburb of Deerfield.
