US-based Beale Street Blues Company, the owner of B.B. King Blues Club, Moondance Grill, Itta Bena and Lafayette's Music Room restaurant, is planning to transfer the ownership of two of its brands.

According to a report by The Commercial Appeal, the company has transferred ownership of Moondance-Thornwood and Lafayette's Music Room.

The news agency quoted Beale Street Blues Company CEO Sara Fay Eagan as saying: "Today, Beale Street Blues Company transitioned ownership of Moondance-Thornwood, LLC and Lafayette's Music Room, LLC to the family of the late Liz Peters.

"The Peters family – with the late Tommy Peters' daughter, Sara Fay Egan, as CEO – is committed to upholding his legacy as a dedicated businessman, music lover and advocate for local musicians and above all, an avid supporter of the Bluff City.

"The Peters family and Beale Street Blues Company look forward to continuing his legacy in Memphis."

The company will retain ownership of B.B. King's Blues Club and Itta Bena venues, which are located in Memphis and Montgomery, Alabama.

It will also continue to own Lucille's Eatery, which is also in Montgomery, and The All-Star Band performing on Holland America cruise ships.

The first B.B. King Blue's Club was opened in 1991 on Beale Street in Memphis by Tommy Peters, who is said to have played a pivotal role in revitalising the club.

In 2014, Tommy Peters and his wife, Liz Peters, re-opened Lafayette's Music Room in Overton Square before launching the fine dining concept Moondance in Germantown in 2019.
