CKE Restaurants Holdings (CKE) has partnered with the Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) to expand the Carl's Jr brand into the UK and the Republic of Ireland.

BRG will be responsible for opening, operating and franchising Carl's Jr outlets across the designated territories as exclusive developer.

BRG CEO Satnam Leihal said: “Carl's Jr's international success speaks for itself. The brand offers fantastic food quality and brilliant innovation, and we look forward to replicating the [...] experience in the UK.

“This partnership aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences, and we look forward to introducing Carl's Jr to the UK and Irish markets.”

The collaboration is expected to significantly enhance Carl's Jr’s European presence, which currently includes 100 restaurants in Spain, France, Denmark, Turkiye and Switzerland.

The restaurant brand is known for chargrilled burgers, hand-breaded chicken tenders and ice-cream shakes.

CKE has a substantial international presence, with 1,100 restaurants in more than 35 countries.

In February 2024, Carl’s Jr expanded its menu in the US with the Spicy Breakfast Burger and the relaunch of its Spicy Western Bacon Burger.

Both these new offerings are variations of its signature Western Bacon Cheeseburger.
