Food delivery and e-commerce platform magicpin has launched an AI-based assistant, ‘Vera’, aimed at giving restaurants and retailers real-time visibility into order volumes to support operational planning, The Press Trust of India (PTI) has reported.

The company onboarded more than 100,000 outlets during Vera’s trial run ahead of the formal launch.

magicpin advanced the rollout after a significant LPG shortage disrupted operations at food delivery partner restaurants across India.

During this period, the firm said it used Vera to offer real-time, AI-enabled support.

According to the platform, the AI layer is intended to ease constraints for small enterprises operating on slim margins by strengthening their online visibility, helping them connect with a wider customer base and supporting revenue generation.

Separately, the company also confirmed the launch via a LinkedIn post.

“This also marks our entry into a new business vertical, backed by a $1m investment in AI-led merchant enablement,” the post added.

According to magicpin, Vera will function as an always-on AI co-pilot for merchants. It can help businesses optimise Google Business listings, and gain visibility across AI-driven discovery channels such as ChatGPT.

It can also turn incoming queries into “high-intent leads” in real time.

In November last year, magicpin partnered with Rapido to plug its restaurant network into Rapido’s food delivery offering, Ownly.

Through this arrangement, Ownly is stated to gain access to more than 80,000 restaurants across India, supporting Rapido’s plans to widen the service’s reach.
