goop kitchen, the chef-led restaurant concept founded by actor and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow, has opened its first location in New York, US.
The move marks the delivery-focused brand’s first move outside California.
In a statement, goop kitchen said the New York location in Midtown West will cater to customers in adjacent neighbourhoods.
Founded in 2021, goop kitchen was conceived as a “dark kitchen” business, running without on-site dining and focusing on food prepared for delivery and takeaway.
Since making its debut in Los Angeles, goop kitchen has gradually extended its network. The brand recently opened its “highest-performing location” in the Bay Area.
The company has described its launch in New York as a “significant milestone” in its growth plans.
Paltrow said: “New York felt like a very natural next step for us. It's one of the most vibrant and discerning food cities in the world, but it's also a place where people rely on delivery in a real way.
“We built goop kitchen around that reality, creating food that's thoughtful, satisfying, and designed to arrive just as it's meant to be enjoyed."
Going forward, the brand intends to add further locations across Manhattan and Brooklyn, with an overall objective to double its number of sites over the next year.
goop kitchen CEO Donald Moore said: “We've spent the past several years building and refining a model designed specifically for delivery, and the performance we've seen gives us real confidence in its ability to scale.
“Today, we're serving more than 40,000 guests each week with strong repeat behaviour across markets. Expanding into New York marks the beginning of an exciting new phase of growth for the brand.”
