Happy Belly Food Group, a consolidator of emerging restaurant brands, has expanded its Rosie’s Burgers chain in Quebec, Canada, with a new location in Montreal’s Mile End.

The new restaurant marks Rosie’s 13th location in the country, extending the brand’s presence to the fourth Canadian province.

Rosie’s is positioned as a boutique quick-service restaurant, with a menu centred on smash burgers, fries, poutine, onion rings and traditional milkshakes.

Happy Belly Food Group CEO Sean Black said: “Montreal is one of Canada’s most iconic food cities, and Mile End is a natural fit for Rosie’s restaurant culture.

“Our disciplined growth strategy is built around securing neighbourhoods with consistent daily demand, strong surrounding density, and the kind of local character that aligns with Rosie’s brand DNA.

“Opening our first Rosie’s in Quebec is an important milestone for the concept, and another step towards becoming the leading smash burger brand in Canada.”

The Montreal opening also means Happy Belly now has a second restaurant concept operating in Quebec. In January, Yolks Breakfast, another brand in the company’s portfolio, opened its first Quebec location in Montreal.

Happy Belly indicated it plans to unveil more locations and development updates in the province this year, as part of its wider multi-brand growth strategy across Canada.

Black added: “With 13 locations now open and more than 112 in development across key Canadian provinces, the Rosie’s brand is positioned to scale rapidly in the years ahead.

“These openings contribute to Happy Belly’s broader portfolio of 666 contractually committed retail franchise locations across multiple emerging brands in various stages of development, construction, and operation.”
