American sandwich chain Jimmy John’s has entered the Mexican market, opening three restaurants in partnership with franchisee Grupo Cever.

The new locations are at Tecnológico de Monterrey’s Monterrey campus, Tecnológico de Monterrey’s Estado de Mexico campus, and on Insurgentes Sur in Mexico City.

The launch in Mexico not only marks the brand’s fifth market outside the US but also Jimmy John’s first presence in Latin America, following its move into international markets two years ago.

Inspire Brands acquired Jimmy John’s in October 2019.

Inspire International president and managing director Michael Haley said: “We’re excited to bring Jimmy John’s premium ingredients and unmatched convenience to Mexico with Grupo Cever.”

Lic. César Verdes Quevedo, vice-president of Grupo Cever, the Jimmy John’s franchisee in Mexico, said: “We recognise exceptional brands and products when we see - and taste - them.

“The bold flavours and diverse menu at Jimmy John’s are truly unmatched, and we’re confident they’ll keep our guests coming back for more - and bringing their friends.”

Jimmy John’s currently operates more than 2,600 restaurants across six global markets, including Mexico.

In September 2025, Jimmy John’s branched into the pizza sector with the introduction of two new pizza-inspired Toasted Sandwiches.
