US-based fried chicken chain KFC has launched a new dining concept named Saucy, with its opening scheduled on 23 December 2024 in Orlando, Florida.

The spin-off restaurant will focus on customisable chicken tenders and a range of sauces and beverages, providing a personalised dining experience.

Saucy has a pink colour scheme and contemporary design. It is expected to offer a modern customer experience with the latest industry technology.

Situated in the Waterford Lakes neighbourhood of Orlando, the restaurant will feature drive-through lanes, self-service kiosks and advanced back-of-house tech that utilises real-time data to improve service efficiency and food freshness.

The company will host live entertainment and other programmes at Saucy to enhance the customer experience. It aims to be a place where patrons can relax, enjoy their meals and spend more time.

The menu will be centred around its 11 signature sauces - a nod to KFC's original 11 herbs and spices - ranging from Chimichurri Ranch to Sweet Teriyaki.

The menu will also feature chicken tenders, sandwiches and sides. Desserts will include chocolate mousse cake and key lime cake.

In response to the growing trend of niche dining experiences, McDonald's also announced a small-format concept, CosMc's, in December 2023. CosMc's offers a retro space theme, and McDonald's aims to expand its global presence to 50,000 restaurants by 2027.

In December 2024, Value Foodservice (VFS), the restaurant brand’s franchisee, expanded to 59 KFC locations with the acquisition of 11 stores.
