Maxol launches food and essentials delivery in Ireland via Just Eat

The company plans to expand the service in stages, reaching more than 60 Maxol outlets across Ireland.

Irish forecourt and convenience retailer Maxol has introduced its new digital delivery service from selected service stations.

The new service will enable customers to order freshly cooked meals as well as groceries and other essentials.

In a statement, Maxol said the service is initially available from three outlets: Newbridge in Kildare, Ardbrae in Wicklow and the redeveloped Long Mile Road site in Dublin. Orders at this stage are being placed through Just Eat.

This launch marks the first step in a wider programme that will see the service extended to more than 60 Maxol locations across Ireland.

The company said it also plans to integrate Uber Eats and Deliveroo as additional delivery partners.

The menus currently on offer feature several brands and cuisines.

These include Mexican-style bowls from Bowly, pizzas made with handmade dough under the Pizza Nova brand, taco and burrito options from La Taqueria, and dishes from Cheeky Chicken. Further food concepts are expected to be added.

Alongside hot meals, customers can order a range of convenience items. This includes staples such as bread and milk, as well as savoury snacks, confectionery, soft drinks, alcohol and other products for everyday use.

Maxol CEO Brian Donaldson said: “This new service allows us to extend our food proposition beyond breakfast and lunch, giving customers in Dublin, Wicklow and Kildare access to high-quality, cooked-to-order meals delivered straight to their door from their local Maxol service station.”

The project has been developed in collaboration with international food-technology company Noahs.

Noahs co-founder and CEO Daniel Baven said: “Partnering with an Irish-owned company like Maxol for our entry into Ireland is exactly the right fit.

“Our technology turns a service station into a fully digital food operation — one ordering experience, one kitchen, one delivery — so customers can get a freshly cooked meal and their everyday essentials without juggling apps.”

In parallel with the delivery rollout, Maxol has installed in-store digital ordering kiosks in a number of sites.
