McDonald's has expanded its UK menu with the introduction of The Big Arch burger and announced a strategic leadership transition to support the chain’s ongoing transformation journey.

Priced at £7.99 (around $10.80) for the burger alone, or £9.99 as part of a medium meal, the Big Arch burger features two Quarter Pounder beef patties along with lettuce and cheese.

It has already been released in France, Portugal, and Canada.

Additional items on the UK menu are Halloumi Fries, the Cheesy McCrispy, the Toffee Crisp McFlurry and Toffee Apple Pie.

The Big Arch sauce's ingredients include McDonald's ketchup, pickle juice, mustard and pepper.

McDonald's UK and Ireland menu head Thomas O'Neill describes the Big Arch as "one of the biggest things [McDonald's] will launch in a generation.

“The Big Arch is going to take us into the next level of great beef burgers. It’s designed to satisfy big McDonald’s hunger like nothing else on our menu and it’s also designed to taste amazing.

“A new iconic burger needs an equally iconic sauce. The sauce is brand new, it’s designed to look and taste and feel like McDonald’s.”

From 1 August 2025, Whitney McGinnis will take on the role of senior vice-president of commercial products and platforms, and Valerie Ashbaugh will become chief information officer and senior vice-president for the chain’s US arm, in an exchange of their current positions.

AsiaPay has also recently announced that it is collaborating with McDonald’s to introduce an integrated online payment solution in Taiwan.
