US-based dining concept Metro Diner has announced the launch of a new meal deal known as the Summer of Waffles (SoW).

Metro Diner is offering savoury and sweet breakfast items for the five weeks leading up to National Fried Chicken and Waffle Day on 8 August 2023.

The restaurant created National Fried Chicken and Waffle Day in 2018 to honour the brand's signature dish.

Guest will receive an SoW Passport at the beginning of the season. Guests can receive one stamp for every visit in which they order that week's featured waffle or menu hack.

The first week of the season began on 10 July with a Lemon Blueberry Waffle offering. The second week will begin on 17 July with a Fruity Waffle, which comprises a blueberry Belgian waffle topped with strawberries, bananas and powdered sugar.

The third week of the season begins on 24 July featuring the Cinnamon Roll Waffle and the fourth week will feature a Fried Chicken Tender and Waffle Taco Hack.

On the week of 7 August, Metro Diner will offer its SoW Passport holders Fried Chicken and Waffles.

The restaurant brand added that guests can earn a dining discount and prizes during the five weeks by taking a Summer Waffle Staycation at their local Metro Diner.
