US fast-food chain Nathan’s Famous has opened a new restaurant location in Tucson, Arizona.

Located near the University of Arizona, the site is positioned to serve students, local residents and visitors moving through one of Tucson’s main leisure corridors.

The Tucson restaurant offers the brand’s complete menu, including its all-beef hot dogs, crinkle-cut fries and burgers.

Customers can also order hand-breaded chicken sandwiches and tenders, chicken wings, NY Cheesesteak and thick shakes.

Nathan's Famous marketing vice-president Phil McCann said: “We're proud to bring Nathan's Famous to Arizona.

“Tucson is a vibrant, energetic community, and we are excited to partner with a passionate local franchisee to bring our iconic menu and the Flavour of New York to Arizona."

The new venue is owned and operated by franchisee Michael Kramkowski.

Kramkowski said: “I wanted to bring a brand to Tucson that has a strong, authentic heritage.

“Nathan's Famous is an American icon, and this location is the perfect fit – close to the University, accessible by streetcar and right in the middle of Tucson's most dynamic neighbourhoods. We are excited to welcome the community in.”

Nathan’s Famous traces its roots to 1916, when immigrant Nathan Handwerker opened a hot dog stand. As of 2026, it distributes its products across 50 US states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, Guam, and 21 other countries.

Last month, US pork processor Smithfield Foods signed an agreement to acquire all issued and outstanding shares of Nathan’s Famous for $102 per share in cash, valuing the deal at an enterprise value of $450m.
