Restaurant technology company OpenTable has acquired Libro, a reservation and table management platform headquartered in Montreal, Canada.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Libro operates as an AI-driven guest experience and restaurant reservation platform. The company offers restaurants a full system to manage bookings, reduce no-shows, engage customers and improve the overall dining experience.

OpenTable expects the deal to enhance its presence in Canada, particularly in Quebec.

Libro CEO Lorne Schwartz said: “This is an exciting next chapter for Libro and the restaurants we serve.

“By joining forces with OpenTable, we're able to expand our reach and bring even more value to our community, while continuing to deliver the localised support and innovation our partners rely on.”

Under the agreement, Libro’s employees and leadership team will move across to OpenTable.

Libro will keep operating under its own brand to maintain continuity for existing restaurant partners while gaining broader exposure through the OpenTable marketplace.

The companies plan a gradual integration of inventory, technology infrastructure and security functions over the coming period.

They plan to use their combined resources towards developing additional tools for restaurants and diners in North America.

In December 2025, restaurant-focused voice AI provider Maple announced an integration with OpenTable.
