US sandwich franchise Port of Subs has unveiled regional development plans to strengthen its footprint in the Pacific Northwest region, specifically in Washington and Idaho.
In a statement, the company said that regional developer Ben Pearson has opened his first Port of Subs store in Spokane, Washington, as part of a ten-unit regional development agreement covering eastern Washington and northern Idaho.
Under the development plan, further outlets are being targeted for Coeur d'Alene, Ritzville, Spokane, the Tri-Cities (Kennewick, Pasco and Richland), and Walla Walla.
The new store builds on the brand’s existing locations in Bellingham, Mill Creek, Mountlake Terrace and Tulalip.
Pearson said: “Port of Subs and its focus on quality and consistency strongly align with my values as a business leader.
“I look forward to bringing the neighbourhood sandwich shop experience to the Inland Northwest by building strong community connections and providing excellent customer service to communities across Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho."
Port of Subs is also preparing to open its first location at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac) this year.
The outlet will be led by US military veteran and restaurant operator Rod O'Neil. In addition, he will be partnering with Jerry Whitsett, who operates Port of Subs locations at Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) in Las Vegas.
Their move into Sea-Tac will extend the brand’s airport presence and introduce it to a wider base of travellers in the Pacific Northwest.
Beyond the initial terminal site, Port of Subs said it is seeking additional regional developers to establish more restaurants in the Greater Seattle area.
Port of Subs president and CEO Healey Mendicino said: “With a new ten-unit development deal in Washington, a record-breaking start in Spokane, and our first SeaTac Airport location on the way, this is a pivotal moment for our growth in the Pacific Northwest.”
Known for serving subs, sandwiches, wraps and salads, Port of Subs has more than 120 locations across the US.
