SSP Group has renewed and expanded its food and beverage (F&B) contracts at three major airports in Egypt.

Under the new agreement, the company will operate 15 outlets across Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 2 (T2) at Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport, two units at Aswan International Airport and one at Abu Simbel Airport.

The three airports handle more than ten million passengers a year. Sharm el-Sheikh accounts for nine million of these, positioning it as one of Egypt’s leading air hubs.

The refreshed line-up includes global restaurant brands such as KFC, Burger King (BK) and Costa, alongside local concepts and SSP’s own brands, including Ritazza and Panopolis.

The contract extensions add to a series of recent developments for SSP in Egypt, with the company marking the completion of several projects across the region last year.

The first was the opening of a KFC outlet at Cairo International Airport T2, following an earlier KFC launch at Hurghada. A third KFC is planned for Sharm El Sheikh.

These sites add to SSP’s existing portfolio in Egypt, which includes seven Burger King units and five Costa locations.

The expansion comes amid steady growth in Egypt’s air traffic. Passenger volumes at Cairo International Airport increased 6.8% in 2025 to 30.94 million, up from 28.97 million in 2024.

Other airports across the country recorded a 22.3% jump in passenger traffic in 2025, reaching around 28 million arrivals and departures, according to the Egyptian State Information Service.

SSP EEME CEO George Antoniou said: “This new deal is closely aligned with SSP’s global strategy to develop our business in higher-growth markets.

“Egypt remains a strategically important market for SSP, and we’re proud to continue serving millions of passengers each year at these iconic airports.”
