India-based online food delivery service Swiggy is set to add a fee for restaurant partners on orders made via its Swiggy One membership scheme.
The company has notified select restaurant partners that the charge will take effect from 25 November 2025, as reported by NDTV Profit.
Restaurants will be charged on a per-order basis under the scheme.
The company told impacted restaurants the final fee for each payout cycle will depend on the share of orders originating from Swiggy One members during that cycle.
Swiggy operates on a weekly payout cadence, typically settling on Wednesdays or Thursdays, although timings can vary by city.
The fee will be additional to the commission Swiggy currently deducts from restaurant orders, which CNBC-TV18 reports as generally falling in the 17-25% range.
In 2025, the online food delivery service began applying a rain-surge fee to its premium members, a category of users previously exempt.
The new per-order fee follows several recent changes to Swiggy’s merchant charges.
In February 2025 it introduced a 2% collection fee on all orders for restaurant partners, and in September it raised its platform fee for the upcoming 2025 festive season from Rs12 ($0.14) to Rs15.
In 2024, Swiggy unveiled three new programmes - kitchen equipment procurement support, hygiene audits and professional photoshoot services - to enhance support for its restaurant partners.
The initiatives were all designed to boost operational efficiency, maintain hygiene standards and improve customer engagement.
