The Habit Burger Grill has announced the return of its French Onion Charburger to US menus.

Available for a limited period, the French Onion Charburger is stacked with a chargrilled patty, French onion sauce, melted cheese, onion rings, caramelised onions, shredded lettuce and sliced tomatoes.

Each burger is cooked to order over an open flame.

The burger offers a balance of sweet and savoury flavours, encapsulating the taste of slowly cooked onions in a burger format.

It is available at participating outlets across the country, marking the return of the French Onion Charburger for the fifth time.

The Habit Burger Grill culinary innovation director Jason Triail said: “Our French Onion Char is something special. We've packed the rich, warm flavour of French onion soup, the crispiness of onion rings and an awesome cheese pull into one killer burger.

“It's become a fan favourite for good reason. The combination of our chargrilled patty with fresh California produce and sweet, caramelised onions creates a flavour profile that's uniquely craveable. One bite tells the whole story – it's a burger that truly stands out.”

In early 2024 the Habit Burger Grill relaunched the Patty Melt in the US, comprising caramelised onions, melted cheeses and a Thousand Island dressing.

The brand has been expanding its US footprint, with new locations in California, Florida and Las Vegas during the year.
