Tim Hortons has partnered with electric vehicle charging company FLO to install its fast chargers at 100 locations throughout Canada by the end of 2028.

The first of these chargers has been launched in Regina, Saskatchewan, at 3810 Chuka Boulevard.

Tim Hortons chief marketing officer Hope Bagozzi stated: “We're thrilled to partner with FLO to make life a little easier for guests driving electric vehicles.

“Whether it's grabbing a coffee and a charge before work, or taking a break on a road trip, we want every Tims run to be convenient, welcoming and a highlight of the journey.

“Our planned rollout will make Tims the largest restaurant provider of EV fast charging in Canada, and we are targeting installations in all 10 provinces to provide coast-to-coast coverage for our guests.”

Plans are in progress to set up fast chargers at as many as 13 additional Tim Hortons outlets by the end of 2025, with a target of 50 locations by 2026.

Each site will have an average of four charging ports available for customers.

The chargers being installed are FLO Ultra, claimed to provide up to 120km of range.

These installations will be part of the FLO network, which is noted for its reliability, with an uptime exceeding 98%, allowing users to find and start charging sessions through the FLO mobile application.

This project aligns with FLO's collaboration with the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB), which has allocated $235m to support the addition of more than 1,900 public fast charging ports across the country.

FLO president and CEO Louis Tremblay stated: “This partnership with Tim Hortons marks a pivotal moment in making EV charging a seamless part of everyday life for Canadians.

“By installing FLO Ultra chargers at trusted, well-visited locations, we're not only building the reliable infrastructure EV drivers need but also empowering Canadians to confidently accelerate their transition to electric mobility.”
