White Castle partners with ART for US kiosk rollout

White Castle and ART plan to test new offerings and expand a menu designed specifically for automated retail.

White Castle is teaming up with Automated Retail Technologies (ART) to deploy hot-food kiosks nationwide, expanding access to its Sliders outside restaurants and grocery channels.

The initiative centres on the White Castle Crave & Go units, which will be installed in a broad mix of commercial, educational and institutional settings.

The kiosks are intended to reach customers in places that do not typically host a conventional White Castle outlet.

White Castle chief marketing officer Jamie Richardson said: “This partnership provides a fun new way for consumers to experience White Castle.

“Automated retail allows us to meet consumers when cravings strike—on campuses, in hospitals, and at workplaces—while delivering the hot and tasty quality that has defined our brand for more than 100 years.”

The rollout is beginning with 1,000 kiosks. Both companies anticipate a faster pace of deployment through 2026.

Unlike frozen retail products that require at-home preparation, the Crave & Go units are designed to prepare orders on demand.

Guests can purchase hot Sliders through a technology-enabled ordering platform, offering a quick, grab-and-go option for consumers in high-traffic environments.

Alongside the installation programme, White Castle and ART plan to trial new items and broaden the menu tailored to automated retail formats.

ART founder David Chessler said: “We’re proud to partner with an American icon like White Castle.

“Together, we’re making it easier for consumers to access authentic White Castle favourites in locations where traditional restaurants may not be available.”

ART’s Just Baked system is currently operating in locations such as universities, hospital networks, office complexes and transport hubs.

Last month, White Castle partnered with Serve Robotics to deliver its menu items using its autonomous delivery robots via Uber Eats.
