Under the contract, Sodexo will continue to provide food and beverages to the public café, Garden Level outlets, the Holyrood Room and the Queensberry House Lounge, along with hospitality and events across the estate.

Alongside catering, the contract also includes the purchase and upkeep of heavy and light kitchen equipment, regular deep cleaning of kitchen areas and pest control.

Sodexo has been working with the Scottish Parliament since 1999.

The foodservice company said it will continue to feature Scottish produce on its menus, aligned with its ‘Proudly Serve Scotland’ commitment.

This initiative focuses on using locally sourced food where possible and aims to generate wider benefits through responsible procurement, engagement with local communities and employment opportunities.

According to Sodexo, 49% of the suppliers supporting the Scottish Parliament contract are small and medium-sized enterprises.

Sodexo UK & Ireland Agencies and Energy COO Ian Sparkes said: “Our team at Scottish Parliament is dedicated to delivering service excellence in all they do, and over the years, they have strengthened our partnership with the Scottish Parliament.

“We remain focused on delivering great food, supporting local suppliers and creating positive impact for the people and communities we serve across Scotland.”

The Scottish Parliament typically receives around 1,000 pass holders each day, including staff, contractors and media. On the busiest business days, more than 2,000 people can be on site.

In January, Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland appointed Sodexo Live! as its catering and hospitality partner.
