US-based speciality ice cream shop chain Baskin-Robbins has announced the addition of new and returning items to its US menu.

The updated offerings have become available from 1 May.

The new menu features Strawberry Tres Leches, a scoopable dessert featuring strawberry pieces, white cake chunks, and strawberry swirls. The item is available for a limited period.

Also introduced is the Lava Colada, a frozen beverage combining piña colada flavours with a strawberry twist. It is available nationwide from 1 May through 31 May.

In celebration of Mother’s Day, Baskin-Robbins has relaunched two themed ice cream cakes. These are the Perfect Peony Cake and the Strawberries ‘n Cream Cake.

The Perfect Peony Cake now includes more peony-style icing designs and additional rosettes.

On the other hand, the Strawberries ‘n Cream Cake is topped with real strawberries and finished with strawberry-flavoured whipped frosting.

Both cakes can be tailored with preferred flavours and messages, the company said.

Baskin-Robbins marketing and culinary vice-president Nicole Boutwell said: “Our new Strawberry Tres Leches ice cream and Lava Colada beverage are a refreshing way to embrace the flavors of spring.

“Whether you’re taking a moment for yourself with a fruity scoop or planning a heartfelt celebration with one of our Mother’s Day cakes, we hope these seasonal treats add a little extra joy to your springtime traditions.”

Last December, Baskin-Robbins made its re-entry in Alberta, Canada after a period of seven years.

It opened its new outlet in Calgary’s Southcentre Mall, which is located at the crossroads of Macleod Trail and Anderson Road.
