Domino’s Pizza has partnered with Microsoft to develop a generative AI assistant to improve store operations and customer service.

The pizza chain plans to leverage Microsoft Cloud and the Azure OpenAI Service to streamline the ordering process further.

Domino’s chief technology officer Kelly Garcia said: “We are thrilled to co-innovate with Microsoft using Azure AI technology to advance the future of pizza ordering and store technology powered by secure, connected data and simplified processes.

“Our collaboration over the next five years will help us serve millions of customers with consistent and engaging ordering experiences while supporting our corporate stores, franchisees and their respective team members with tools to make store operations more efficient and reliable.”

Under this new alliance, Domino’s and Microsoft will establish an Innovation Lab to expedite the time to market smart store and ordering innovations.

The partners noted that they are committed to responsible AI practices that protect customer data and privacy.

Domino’s plans to pilot the new generative AI-based technology at its stores within the next six months.

With predictive features, the generative AI assistant can help streamline pizza production and quality monitoring, according to the firm.
