Restaurant Brands International (RBI) has announced the opening of the first Firehouse Subs outlet in Zurich, Switzerland.

It will be the first Firehouse Subs outlet outside North America.

The launch is part of the RBI’s global expansion strategy which includes its development agreement to launch the Firehouse Subs brand in Mexico.

RBI International president David Shear said: “Firehouse Subs is our newest brand and we are excited about its global expansion potential.

The new Firehouse Subs location in Zurich can accommodate 62 guests and features self-order kiosks, mobile ordering and a dedicated click-and-collect area.

Guests will be offered a wide range of menu items, including Hook & Ladder, Firehouse Italian, Firehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket and the new cold sub-Roast Beef & Cheddar, which is available only in Switzerland.

Firehouse Subs was founded in 1994 by two former firefighting brothers in Jacksonville, Florida. The restaurant regularly raises funds to support local public safety organisations.
