Romanian coffee chain 5 to go has opened its first two airport locations at Henri Coandă International Airport in Bucharest, World Coffee Portal has reported.
The new outlets, part of the brand’s efforts to capitalise on strategic locations, are situated in the arrivals and departures terminals.
The airport received 14.6 million visitors in 2023, exceeding the footfall at Romania’s second busiest airport, Cluj Avram Iancu International, by ten million.
The airport stores are being managed by City Grill Group, a Bucharest-based licensee known for operating a portfolio of restaurant chains including City Grill, Pescăruș, Hanu’ Berarilor Uranus, Manuc’s Hanu’ and Buongiorno. It also has a City Cafe coffee shop at the same airport.
Since its inception in 2015, 5 to go has grown rapidly and now has 550 outlets in Romania and an additional five stores in Hungary.
5 to go co-founder Radu Savopol said: “The presence of 5 to go in Henri Coandă is an important achievement, allowing us to keep our customers connected with the brand, to be close to them when they travel, and at the same time to make our services and products known to foreign tourists, who have not interacted with 5 to go before.”
5 to go plans to expand its partnership with City Grill Group on further large-scale projects as it seeks to reach 1,000 stores in Romania by 2029.
