US-based foodservice equipment and supplies distributor Singer Equipment has purchased contract company EVI.
Based in the US, equipment dealership company EVI serves multi-unit restaurants and independent food groups and offers services in the greater Baltimore – DC market.
The transaction is expected to increase Singer Equipment’s resources and local presence in Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
According to Singer Equipment president and CEO Fred Singer, the deal allows the company to serve more customers and adds approximately 40 EVI employees in the region.
In a statement, Singer said: “EVI also has a strong reputation with national restaurant chains and we look forward to growing our presence in this important customer segment.
“We will continue to build our business so that we can bring you a more complete solution, both geographically and in terms of the services we offer.
“Everything we do is to become a more helpful and effective partner to your business – to make us more responsive to your needs and to create solutions to your evolving challenges.”
EVI founders Tom and Dana Lawson will continue to run the division on behalf of Singer Equipment and will report to Fred Singer.
Singer Equipment currently has more than 500 employees and serves over 5,000 customers annually. It has eight three distribution centres and eight offices.
