Subway has announced the launch of a new range of lavash-style wraps in US restaurants from 11 April 2024.

This marks the brand’s first new bread option in three years.

Holding more ingredients than a traditional wheat tortilla, the lavash-style flatbread, inspired by Middle Eastern cuisine, has a soft and bubbly texture capable of holding a footlong protein portion within a six-inch wrap.

The new menu features four lavash options: Homestyle Chicken Salad, Honey Mustard Chicken, Turkey, Bacon & Avocado, and Cali Caprese.

The Homestyle Chicken Salad wrap contains chicken salad made with rotisserie-style chicken and mayo, topped with lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumber and red onion.

The Honey Mustard Chicken wrap combines rotisserie-style chicken with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, Monterey cheddar cheese and a sweet honey mustard sauce.

The Turkey, Bacon & Avocado wrap is a protein-packed option with oven-roasted turkey and crispy bacon and smashed avocado, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, Monterey cheddar cheese and peppercorn ranch sauce.

The Cali Caprese wrap offers a vegetarian option with fresh mozzarella and avocado, topped with lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, roasted garlic aioli and parmesan vinaigrette.

Subway senior vice-president of culinary and innovation Paul Fabre said: “Wraps have become an afterthought on restaurant menus with uninspiring choices and snack-size portions that leave you wanting more.

“That insight kickstarted the process of revamping Subway’s wraps. We spent over a year creating signature recipes with unique ingredients that bring out the best in our new lavash-style flatbread, and also fuel you up without weighing you down.”

Customers can customise their meals by choosing the new lavash-style flatbread for any sandwich.

The latest addition is part of Subway’s transformation journey that began in 2021, aiming to elevate the dining experience with new and improved offerings.

In January this year, Subway launched Sidekicks, a new collection of three foot-long snacks.
