US-based café chain The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) has expanded its footprint with the inauguration of a new outlet in Santa Monica, California.

Located at the Medical Center of Santa Monica, the new CBTL venue is the result of a partnership with a franchisee who manages four other CBTL cafés in the Los Angeles area.

The café showcases CBTL’s latest design and offers ample indoor seating for customers.

CBTL customers can also place their order through The Coffee Bean Rewards app or opt for delivery via the app.

The new location offers a selection of Arabica coffee grades.

Coffee beans are sourced from select estates globally and custom-roasted in small batches at the company’s Camarillo roasting facility.

The Santa Monica café also features an extensive range of whole-leaf teas.

The coffee and tea range is complemented by an assortment of baked goods, including muffins, cakes and speciality croissants

Offerings also include oven-toasted breakfast items such as the Beyond Breakfast Sausage Sandwich, the Bacon & Egg Burrito and the Chorizo Breakfast Burrito.

The opening of the new store is a significant step for The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf’s parent company, Jollibee Foods.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf franchise owner Jason Park said: “Our guests, doctors, nurses and other people visiting the Medical Center now have their favourite morning start and afternoon pick-me-up easily accessible.

“The iconic café has been serving quality and innovative beverages for 60 years, and we are thrilled to be able to serve this community. As a locally owned franchisee of this global brand, I’m excited to continue to grow the brand in the Los Angeles area.”

In December 2023, CBTL expanded its offerings with matcha and bubble tea options through its World of Tea pilot programme.
