TUCO announces 2018 Awards finalists

The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO) has this morning (13 July) revealed the shortlist for its annual awards – recognising the outstanding commitment and dedication, initiatives and bright ideas of its members.

The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO) has this morning (13 July) revealed the shortlist for its annual awards – recognising the outstanding commitment and dedication, initiatives and bright ideas of its members.

Taking place 25 July at the University of Hull (Yorkshire), the awards form part of the organisation’s 2018 TUCO Conference, with chair Matthew White commenting: “The TUCO Awards are an opportunity for our members to receive recognition for their hard work and commitment. It is important that we show appreciation.

“Congratulations to all finalists and many thanks to all nominations that we have received. It is very difficult to choose from many talented people in the industry. I wish everyone the best of luck.”

Now in their second year, there are five awards up for grabs this year, including the inaugural ‘Outstanding Achievement Award.’

All finalists are as below:

Rising Star Award

Helen Earwaker – Royal Holloway, University of London Latoya Lambert – University of Huddersfield Ross Carstairs – University of St Andrews Innovation Award Royal Holloway, University of London • University of Reading

Sustainability Award

Aston University King’s College London University of Cambridge

Team of the Year

The Delivered Hospitality Service Team – Cardiff University Café on the Square Team – Royal Holloway, University of London Accommodation, Conferences and Events Team – University of St Andrews

Member of the Year

Huddersfield University Royal Holloway, University of London University of Wolverhampton

Outstanding Achievement Award

Clive Williams – University of Leicester Wendy Hardman – University of Manchester Helen Anzani – University of South Wale

Helen Anzani, head of catering services at the University of South Wales, commented: “I am honoured to be shortlisted alongside such accomplished colleagues within TUCO.

“Being a TUCO member has been invaluable to the University of South Wales, it delivers great value for a small membership fee.
