Blimpie introduces sweet and spicy Caribbean jerk chicken subs

The subs, which contain chicken tossed in Caribbean jerk sauce, can be purchased in stores and online.

UK-based submarine sandwich chain Blimpie, owned by franchising company Kahala Brands, has launched two new sweet and spicy Caribbean jerk chicken subs.

The two new additions are the Sweet Caribbean Jerk Chicken Sub and the Spicy Caribbean Jerk Chicken Sub. Both subs were rolled out across all its restaurant outlets on 11 July 2023.

The Sweet Caribbean Jerk Chicken Sub features chicken tossed in Caribbean jerk sauce and topped with red onion and diced pineapple.

The Spicy Caribbean Jerk Chicken Sub also contains chicken tossed in Caribbean jerk sauce with a topping of red onion, jalapenos and diced pineapple.

Kahala Brands marketing director Sam Carity said: “Blimpie is excited to introduce our new Caribbean jerk chicken subs to menus nationwide.

“Our new limited-time offerings highlight the sweet and spicy flavours of the season into two mouth-watering subs that epitomise a Bigger. Better. Blimpie. in 2023.”

Founded in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1964, Blimpie is now based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The brand currently has 156 franchised restaurants across the US and overseas. 

The two new subs will be available until 1 October 2023 and can be purchased in-store and online nationwide.

In April this year, the brand launched two new pizza subs, the Original Pizza Sub and the Spicy Hawaiian Pizza Sub.
