Brazilian steakhouse restaurant chain Fogo de Chão has opened its second site in Santiago, further extending its presence in Chile just months after entering the market.

Situated within the Cenco Costanera complex in the Providencia district, the restaurant's interior layout and décor are intended to draw on the brand’s Brazilian heritage.

Fogo de Chão’s first Chilean outlet began operations in January this year at CV Galeria in Santiago's Vitacura neighbourhood.

According to the company, both venues include a dry-aged meat locker, a Bar Fogo serving cocktails and wines, and the Market Table, which presents seasonal salads, charcuterie, fruit and a range of superfoods.

Fogo de Chão CEO Barry McGowan said: “These openings represent an important milestone for Fogo, as they mark our debut in Chile with two Santiago locations.

“We are thrilled to continue our expansion in South America, strengthening our presence in a region that is deeply connected to our roots.

“Looking ahead, we remain committed to sharing our authentic Brazilian hospitality and churrasco experience with guests in both new and existing markets across the globe.”

The business has signalled plans to ramp up growth this year. Its development pipeline includes new restaurants in various US cities, Honduras and additional markets.

Last August, Fogo de Chão opened its first outlet in the Philippines by partnering with Bistro Americano.
