Russia-based e-commerce platform Wildberries has introduced a pilot programme providing express delivery of ready-made meals sourced from local restaurants and cafés.

This service will initially be available in selected districts of Moscow and St Petersburg, with intentions to broaden its reach to additional cities in Russia in the future, according to a press release on Media OutReach Newswire.

The ordering process will be facilitated through the Wildberries application, allowing customers to select meals to be prepared and delivered by partner establishments within one hour.

The first collaborator in this venture is Dostaevsky, a food delivery service that focuses on the dark kitchen model, offering 450 ready-to-eat items accessible via the Wildberries platform.

The market for restaurant-ready meal delivery in Russia is expected to experience a growth rate of 30% in 2025, potentially reaching $8.3bn.

Food products have recently surpassed home goods, clothing and electronics in online sales volume in the country.

In addition to this new service, Wildberries has been expanding its fresh food offerings through partnerships.

Founded in 2004, it operates in Russia and neighbouring countries Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and also engages with sellers from China and the United Arab Emirates.

Wildberries maintains a significant IT infrastructure to support its operations, alongside an extensive logistics network that encompasses more than 135 facilities and 83,000 pick-up points across its operational regions.

As of 2025, the platform serves more than 79 million customers and handles more than 20 million orders each day.

Wildberries & Russ Delivery-by-Seller head Elizaveta Shlein stated: “With the launch of the ready-made meal delivery service, we are entering a new phase in the development of the Wildberries ecosystem.

“We are only at the starting point of our foodtech direction, which we plan to scale across all regions where the company operates.”
