TH International (Tims China), the operator of Tim Hortons coffee shops in China, has announced the opening of its 700th coffee shop in the country.

Located in the northwest city of Yinchuan, the new store is the company’s first location in China’s Northwest region.

Its opening supports the company’s geographic expansion plans across China.

It noted that the branch is one of the many Tims China franchised stores opening in June and July.

Tims China CEO Yongchen Lu said: “Our development team did an amazing job with our 700th store in Yinchuan.

“We designed this location to capture the unique culture and contrasts of this special part of China and we hope both local guests and tourists feel that when they visit us. We look forward to opening more stores in the region as we continue to expand.”

By the end of this year, Tims China aims to open more than 1,000 locations across the country.

The company added that the franchising model allows the company to develop stores at attractive locations with local partners and greater capital efficiency.

In August 2022, Tims China opened three new coffee shops in Beijing.

The new coffee shops are located within Easy Joy convenience stores in the city’s central business district.
