Fast-casual Mexican restaurant group Tortilla has resumed its partnership with Deliveroo to support its growth in the UK.

The chain ended the collaboration in February 2024 after reviewing its delivery strategy.

In a statement, Deliveroo said that Tortilla rejoined the platform following a “brief hiatus” to give customers another route to access the chain’s menu via app-based delivery.

The renewed tie-up covers 60 Tortilla restaurants across the UK, including outlets in London, Cardiff, Bath and Liverpool.

Tortilla Mexican Grill CEO Brandon Stephens said: “Delivery remains an important and complementary channel for Tortilla, and this new multi-aggregator arrangement reflects our disciplined approach to accessing incremental demand while retaining operational and commercial control.

“We are pleased to be partnering with Deliveroo again, building on our existing relationship and leveraging their platform alongside other leading aggregators.

“This approach allows us to serve customers more conveniently, while ensuring delivery continues to support the long-term economics of the business.”

Through Deliveroo, customers will be able to order Tortilla’s main menu items, including burritos, bowls and salads.

The business is also making its new Fuel-Good Bowls available on Deliveroo. The range consists of three dishes, each created with a different nutritional focus to help diners choose options that match their dietary preferences or lifestyle.

As part of the agreement, Tortilla will also participate in Deliveroo’s Family Dinneroo scheme.

The initiative offers family-oriented, shareable meals for up to four people, with customisation options.

Deliveroo chief revenue officer Rob Harris said: "We are excited to welcome Tortilla back to Deliveroo, and we look forward to helping them achieve their growth ambitions.

“It’s a partnership that’s about more than delivery, it’s about reaching new customers and building a loyal customer base together through innovative initiatives like Family Dinneroo and offering great value to Deliveroo Plus subscribers."

Earlier this week, Deliveroo announced that it is trialling a new office catering service across London.
