India’s Zomato food delivery adds order history deletion feature

The feature has been introduced following a user's request to remove traces of his late-night food orders.

India-based food delivery service Zomato has introduced a feature allowing customers to delete their order history.

The request for the feature was made by Zomato customer Karan Singh in December 2023, expressing his dissatisfaction with not being able to erase his order history and calling it the "worst thing."

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal announced on X: "For Karan and many others - you can now delete orders from your order history on Zomato. Use it responsibly. Sorry - this took us a bit of time to prioritise and build. This touched multiple systems and microservices. We are rolling it out to all customers as we speak."

Users can now manage their ordering data more privately by navigating to the Your Orders tab and selecting orders they wish to remove.

In early July 2024, Zomato also made headlines with the relaunch of its Legends intercity service.

The service, which allows customers to order from a variety of restaurants across select cities, now requires a minimum order value of Rs5,000 ($59.90).

It also permits the combination of dishes from multiple eateries in one order, offering greater flexibility for users.

In addition to these customer-centric updates, Zomato has recently launched the Restaurant Services Hub.

This platform is designed to be a comprehensive resource for restaurants to locate and partner with vendors, streamlining their operations and fostering collaboration within the industry.
