Italian coffee chain Café Barbera has opened its first location in Greece, its fifth European market, World Coffee Portal has reported.

Located in Athens, the new store also marks the launch of the brand’s first mini-store concept in the European region.

The new mini-store concept has been designed and developed to increase Café Barbera’s presence in high-footfall locations such as shopping centres, commercial buildings, universities, office areas, airports and metro stations.

Café Barbera managing director Elio Barbera was quoted by World Coffee Portal as saying: “The company-owned store, located in the historical centre of Athens, will serve as a business model for the new format.

“The coffee chain plans to launch multiple mini stores across Athens in the next three years.”

This is Café Barbera’s fourth market entry over the 12 months to November 2023.
