Presto Phoenix has integrated its drive-through voice AI technology into Toast’s partner ecosystem, allowing restaurants that use Toast to deploy the system through their point-of-sale (POS) infrastructure.

Toast provides technology for restaurant and retail businesses, with its partner ecosystem comprising more than 200 companies that offer specialised services and software.

The integration is aimed at quick-service restaurant (QSR) franchise groups using Toast.

It enables orders taken by Presto’s voice AI system at the drive-through to pass directly into the Toast POS and then to the kitchen.

By automating drive-through order-taking, the system is intended to support faster and more accurate service. It can also help limit ordering errors, apply upselling more consistently, and allow employees to concentrate on customer service and order fulfilment.

Toast Enterprise vice-president and products general manager Justin Graham said: “We’re pleased to welcome Presto to the Toast Partner Ecosystem.

“A strong technology ecosystem is critical to enterprise operational efficiency, and we’re committed to integration partners who can help customers build the tech stacks they need.

“Through our integration with Presto, QSR operators can orchestrate drive-thru ordering at scale, extending voice AI to more restaurants with greater speed and accuracy.”

The arrangement extends Presto’s availability to mid-market and emerging multi-location QSR brands operating on Toast’s technology.

Presto co-founder and CEO Krishna Gupta said: “Restaurants are increasingly looking for scalable, AI-driven solutions to improve operations and guest experience.

“By integrating with Toast, we are unlocking access to a growing segment of innovative QSR brands that are investing in modern POS systems and are ready to automate their drive-throughs with Voice AI.”

In January, Presto raised $10m in a funding round to scale its QSR Voice AI platform.
