US-based restaurant brand Umami Burger has expanded its presence in Japan by opening its third Tokyo location at the Kinshicho Parco Sumida Food Court.

With privately owned lifestyle company sbe owning a majority share, the company has partnered with Japan-based Medeiros Holdings for the expansion.

The Kinshicho Parco location offers menus featuring Umami Burger’s Manly Burger, Truffle Burger, Teriyaki Samurai sandwich and Boba Shakes.

Umami Burger will also open its fourth location in the Ebisu district at the Ebisu Mitsukoshi Basement Food Court on 27 March.

The burger chain opened its first Japanese location in March 2017 in Aoyama followed by a second location in Minatomirai last September.

Umami Burger Japan CEO Tatsuhiro Kaiho said: “We are extremely excited for our next two restaurant openings in Japan and to continue to grow the Umami Burger brand. Working with Sam Nazarian and his team has been wonderful and we are looking forward to future expansion.”

Established in Los Angeles, Umami Burger currently operates 18 restaurants in California, New York, Illinois, Nevada, and Japan.
