Restaurant delivery service DoorDash has added Canada-based food delivery service firm Nomme to its network.

Under the partnership, Nomme will redirect its customers to DoorDash’s platform to place orders from mid-August.

DoorDash Canada regional general manager Graeme Hartlen said: “What makes Nomme unique is their focus on being local, and their customer driven company mandate.

“We are excited for them to join with us to offer our users an expanded selection of local restaurants to choose from.”

“DoorDash has a great reputation for being ‘Merchant First’, and that’s an important distinction for us.”

Established in 2016, Nomme currently offers food delivery services to customers in Calgary and Edmonton in Alberta, and Richmond in British Columbia.

The partnership will expand Nomme’s customer service capabilities, provide access to alternative forms of accepting orders such as mobile, computer, fax or tablet, as well as increase marketing opportunities and more options for its customers.

Nomme founder and CEO Alec Wang said: “DoorDash has a great reputation for being ‘Merchant First’, and that’s an important distinction for us as we want our restaurant partners to experience the same level of tech support and customer service that they have become accustomed to. DoorDash’s expertise and success will ensure that they continue to succeed.”

Additionally, Nomme is planning to expand its social ordering app, ClickDishes, in the food mobile ordering space.

In another major development, Doordash has recently raised $250m in a growth round co-led by Coatue Management and DST Global.
