QDOBA, a fast-casual Mexican restaurant chain, has expanded its menu with the introduction of Mexican Street Corn.

The new menu item combines sweet corn, poblano chiles, red bell peppers, an elote sauce, and a splash of lime juice.

The Mexican Street Corn can be added as a warm topping on any entrée at no extra cost, the company said.

Alternatively, customers can opt for a side of Loaded Mexican Street Corn, which is garnished with chile crema, cotija cheese, and cilantro for an additional burst of flavour.

The new offerings are available for customers dining in, placing orders online, or using the QDOBA app.

QDOBA marketing vice president Kim Zamir said: “Inspired by the authentic street food of Mexico, our new Loaded Mexican Street Corn is the perfect side to enjoy with any entrée.

“We know corn has always been a delicious complement to our food, and we are excited to take it up a notch with our latest menu addition. This warm, creamy option differentiates the QDOBA brand in the marketplace, and we expect it to become a guest favourite.”

Earlier this year, QDOBA relaunched Citrus Lime Shrimp, which is claimed to be a sustainably sourced seafood option, for a limited time.

The dish, known for its lime sauce, caters to customers seeking seafood alternatives or reducing their red meat consumption.

QDOBA noted that this menu item is sautéed in-house and is available across participating locations.

The restaurant company currently operates around 750 locations across the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

It claims that its ingredients are freshly prepared in-house by hand to craft a variety of flavourful menu options.
