On May 29, fast food giant McDonald’s Singapore launched a limited edition coconut soft serve.

The Singapore-based news website Mothership reported that the new coconut cone dessert will be available at all its dessert kiosks across Singapore.

The restaurant also plans to give away free coconut soft serves to customers who share a picture of the product receipt on Instagram.

From 29 May, the first 500 customers who tag the restaurant on Instagram using its handle, @mdcsg, will receive a promotional code for a free soft serve cone.

The Singapore Foodie reported that the coconut soft serve is light, milky and similar to fresh coconut, with no artificial flavours or sweeteners.

The Coconut Cone has been priced at S$1.2 ($0.88), the Coconut Hot Fudge Sundae at S$2.4 ($1.7) and the Coconut Oreo McFlurry is S$3.35 ($2.4).

This is the second time that the company has introduced coconut-based products.

In 2017, McDonald’s Singapore launched coconut pie as a seasonal product. It was well received by the customers, prompting the restaurant to relaunch it in May 2020.

The fast food brand was also recently in the news for relaunching two restaurant locations in Ukraine and plans to launch a McCafé outlet in Montreal Pierre-Elliot-Trudeau International airport in Canada.
